- Course Outline
- The course provides a practical introduction to Hospitality and Catering. It’s highly inter-active, pupil-centred, and ‘hands-on’ with practical activities including making food dishes from around the world. There is engagement with at least one local employer either face-to-face or via our digital employer engagement programme, Let’s Do Business. Learners gather evidence of the new skills and knowledge they gain and receive a Career Seekers Direct certificate of participation recognising their achievement. CV development is included to ensure learners include all of their skills, experience and personal attributes. They also receive a folder to keep all evidence and materials in e.g. photos of participation. N.B. The course may be provided for individual schools on their own premises for a small group of learners. The price for this is available upon application.

- Learners gain this range of basic Hospitality and Catering skills and knowledge plus other life skills: Listening Speaking Problem-solving Staying positive Aiming high Teamwork Time management Creativity Planning Research and leadership Hygiene and safety Learners gather evidence of the new skills and knowledge they gain and receive a Career Seekers Direct certificate of participation recognising their achievement. CV development is included to ensure learners include all of their skills, experience and personal attributes. They also receive a folder to keep all evidence and materials in e.g. photos of participation. The wellbeing of learners is assessed both pre and post-course with follow up on any issues identified.
