This programme has been meticulously designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills essential for horse care, complemented by hands-on, practical tasks conducted at our riding centre.
A variety of awards are available at different levels, catering to students of all experience levels, including those who are complete beginners. The only requirements are enthusiasm and a genuine passion for horses!
Moor Farm Stables will offer a range of awards tailored to align with each student’s learning objectives and personal journey, allowing for progression at a comfortable pace.
The curriculum aims to enhance students' understanding and abilities across various subject areas.
For those spending time around horses, a foundational understanding of horse care and safe practices is invaluable. This award centres on building knowledge of what horses require to remain healthy, comfortable, and content. Students will also acquire the essential skills needed to work confidently and safely in the equestrian environment. - Course Modules

The units can be achieved at Bronze, Silver, and Gold standards and encompass the following key topics:
- Introduction to Horse Care
- Introduction to Riding Caring for Your Horse
- Handling Your Horse
- Understanding Your Horse
- Lunging Your Horse
- Flat Riding
- Jumping
- Fitness Riding
- Safety in Riding
Students will benefit from expert guidance and support provided by BHS Approved Coaches, who will assist them in reaching their personal goals. Students will work through booklets for each Challenge Award which helps them to develop a sense of accomplishment throughout the course. - Awarding Body
