Becoming a British citizen is a proud and significant milestone. Our Citizenship Ceremonies provide a meaningful and memorable way to mark this important moment, whether you choose to attend a group ceremony or prefer a more private experience.
Group Citizenship Ceremonies
We hold group ceremonies twice a month in the prestigious Council Chamber at The Council House.
These ceremonies offer a formal and celebratory atmosphere where you can share the occasion with others becoming British citizens.
Due to high demand, places at group ceremonies book quickly, so we recommend securing your place as early as possible.
You can do this when you have received your Home Office invitation letter.
Private Citizenship Ceremonies
For those who prefer a more personal experience, we offer private ceremonies in a convenient location.
Cheylesmore Manor House
Private citizenship ceremonies are available every Monday, offering a more flexible and intimate setting within our historic venue.
Current Fees:
- Monday: £220 per citizen (maximum of 6 guests)
- Saturday: £270 per citizen (maximum of 10 guests)
From 1 April 2027 – 31 March 2028:
- Monday to Friday: £240 per citizen (maximum of 6 guests)
- Saturday: £290 per citizen (maximum of 10 guests)
What’s Included
- A private ceremony led by a Registrar
- Opportunity to invite family and friends (within guest limits)
- An official photograph, printed and mounted for you to take away on the day
Additional photographs are available to purchase for £20.00 each.

- Private citizenship ceremony bookings are non-refundable
- Availability may be limited, so early booking is recommended
